Aerodata completes aerial survey of the 'impossible' Shetland and Orkney Islands
May 26th, 2008
On behalf of Getmapping PLC, Aerodata Int. Surveys recently completed the aerial photography acquisition of the entire achipellago of the Shetland and Orkney Islands both north of Scotland.
Given the location and extremely very poor weather conditions all year round this can be considered to be a major accomplishment. This feat was achieved in only 2 beautiful flying days, using a Fairchild Merlin as well as a Cessna 402 simultaneously, both aircraft equipped with Vexcel Ultracam digital cameras. Through this project Aerodata once again underscores its ability to get it done even if against the odds. | |
