Aerodata contributes to the Dutch national disaster exercise
Nov 8th, 2007
In October a Dutch national disaster exercise took place in Rotterdam. Named Voyager, the exercise staged a collision between a container ship and a cruise ship. About 2000 government officials, civil servants and emergency staff, in addition to hundreds of people acting as victims and public took part in this exercise.
At the crisis centre the ICA web application was used which is a system supporting crisis management. Aerodata made a successful contribution to the exercise by supplying country covering aerial photography and maps which were used intensively within the ICA web through a high speed webhosting service.
During the exercise the crisis centre was visited by the minister of VROM (ministry of planning & environment) who was briefed in detail about the procedures. | |
