French cities available - March update

Following on the heels of the first city dataset availability announcement in February, Aerodata is pleased to announce this month’s update for newly available French city datasets.
The cities now also available (at 12,5cm GSD) to the public are: - Amiens, where Jules Verne sat in the city council from 1888 till 1905 and boasts the largest of the classic Gothic churches in its kind in France
- Avignon, an ancient city where 7 popes have resided in the 14th century and home to the bridge from the famous French children’s song “Sur le pont d’Avignon” (“On the Avignon bridge”)
- Biarritz, located in the South-West corner of France and a European surfing hot-spot
- Dijon, capital of the Burgundy region and famous for its mustard
- Marseille, France’s third largest city and largest commercial port and classified as a significant centre of art and history
- Metz, famous for its yellow limestone architecture, like the Gothic cathedral St. Etienne with stained glass windows designed by Marc Chagall
- Rouen, founded by the Romans, once one of the largest and most prosperous cities of medieval Europe and the place where in 1431 Joan of Arc was burnt at the stake for heresy
- Saint-Etienne, a major bicycle manufacturing town
- Strasbourg seats the European Parliament (with Brussels) and the European Court for Human Rights and is the second largest port on the river Rhine
- Toulouse, the centre of European aerospace industry, headquarters of Airbus and the location of the maiden flight of Airbus’ A380 super jumbo
