Aerodata-Bluesky partnership completes most up-to-date digital photomap of Paris
Jul 21st, 2006

Aerodata International Surveys, in a partnership with BlueSky (UK), has created the most up to date and detailed aerial photomap of Paris. Covering the whole of the metropolitan area and beyond the digital imagery, which was flown last summer, provides a highly detailed snapshot of Parisian life.

Aerodata Surveys captured photography of over 2,700 square kilometres of Paris using the most modern airborne acquisition equipment including a digital photogrammetric camera with inertial measurement unit and Differential GPS for navigation and subsequent rectification of the resulting images. The aerial dataset was then created by BlueSky, who placed each image into its true geographical position using information captured during the survey and additional control points from the ground. Next the individual images were ‘stitched’ together to form a seamless, map accurate digital dataset.

The dataset is included in Aerodata’s continuously growing aeroGRID® archives and is available off-the-shelf to any interested party.
