aerial survey specialist (permanent or free lance)

    job description:
    - act as sensor operator in one of Aerodata aircraft as part of the aerial survey team, based in Antwerp, Belgium
    - responsible for data acquisition on board of the aircraft (mission responsibility)
    - responsible for proper performance of aerial sensors, including peripheral equipment
    - execute pre- and post-flight activities such as mission planning and reporting
    - monitor weather situation in area of operation for day-to-day mission planning
    - coordinate flights with involved authorities (civil and military)
    - execute pre-bid flight planning schedules
    - support image and GPS processing and other post-flight activities

    requirements:
    - higher education (geography, topography, geo informatics or comparable)
    - preferably professional experience with aerial sensors (digital photogrammetric cameras, laser scanners, flight management systems)
    - willingness and ability to acquire knowledge by training on the job
    - enthusiasm for a job in the air
    - good working skills with computers
    - able to act independently and take decisions without direct supervision
    - willingness to execute missions away from base, in and outside of Europe for shorter and longer periods
    - ability to communicate in English (and preferably in Dutch and French)
    - flexible attitude, team player, organiser, problem solver, immune to stress
    - living nearby Antwerp or prepared to move
